She was born in İstanbul, 1950. After completion of primary, secondary and high school, she graduated from Zoology-Botanics major from Istanbul University College of Science where she was admitted in 1967. The same year, she started at İstanbul Medical Faculty Microbiology, Tropical Diseases and Parasitology. She assumed assistant position in 1 February 1973 and completed her specialty with her thesis on “'Cow Colostrum Fractions’ Examination with Electrophoresis and Immune-Diffusion Experiments.
She was appointed to specialist staff of Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Pediatrics Department in 15 November 1976 and worked as responsible manager of Clinical Microbiology Laboratory. She prepared articles for local and international publications. She lectured microbiology lesson, practicum, internship education of Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty midwife – nurse – laborant students, Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Medical Biology Department and other universities’ biology, laborant, two-year degree students between 1977-1983.
In 1980, she attended doctorate studies at Istanbul University health sciences institute, studied on Salmonella typhimurium faj type and plasmid profile analysis at “Central Public Health Laboratory, Division of Enteric Pathogens” in London between July – August 1982. She completed her doctorate degree by submitting “Salmonella typhimurium” thesis established in Istanbul, 1999.
She retired in 2006 from Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Pediatrics Department where she worked since 1976 and still continue her studies in Microbiology Laboratory of Osmanoğlu Hospital. She is married and has three children.
