It is a test that shows the speed, shape and amount of urine flow during voiding. It is used to investigate deteriorated voiding function caused by the urinary bladder or diseases after the urine excretion (such as prostate hypertrophy, urethral strictures).
Uses of Uroflowmetry
1. Lower urinary tract obstructions: BPH, urethral strictures, prostate cancer, bladder neck stenosis, phimosis
2. Voiding defects: Insufficient bladder contractions
3. Monitoring and medication dose adjusting of patients who are medically treated or operated due to lower urinary tract obstruction.
4. Observation of changes in patients with cerebrospinal surgery in terms of voiding ability.
