What is the Kidney and What Functions Does It Have?

The kidneys, which consist of two bean-shaped parts, have functions such as removing excess body water and waste products from the body, and cleaning the blood. It also has different tasks such as maintaining acid-base balance in the blood and balancing blood pressure. It is also related to the amount of calcium in the blood and vitamin D production.


What is Chronic Kidney Disease?

Chronic kidney disease is a disease in which the kidneys slowly lose their function over a long period of time. Often the early symptoms are not noticed. This disease, which can be detected by various blood tests, can trigger or be triggered by other kidney diseases.


If left untreated, it can cause permanent damage to the kidneys. There are symptoms such as low urine output, swelling in the hands, face and legs, shortness of breath, sleep problems, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, high blood pressure, feeling cold and tired.


In addition to treatment practices, lifestyle changes for chronic kidney disease are very important for health.


Reaching and maintaining the ideal weight, keeping high blood pressure and diabetes under control, a healthy eating habit, a lifestyle integrated with exercise, reducing the use of drugs, especially heavy medications, and avoiding bad habits such as smoking and alcohol are healthy practices that can be done.


It is very important that the kidneys are not affected, especially in patients with high blood pressure. These diseases are interrelated and need extra attention.


It is possible to keep blood pressure disease under control by taking similar steps. Of course, these lifestyle changes should be followed in addition to medical treatment practices.


What is Urinary Tract Infection?

They are infections that occur in any part of the urinary tract, and these infections can occur in the ureter, bladder and urinary tract, starting from the kidneys.


Bacteria entering the urinary tract from outside the body cause urinary tract infections. Cystitis, which is the type of infection in which the bladder is affected in urinary tract infections, is quite common.
