What Are Omega-3 Sources?

The essential Omega 3 fatty acids are alpha-linolenic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Alpha-linoleic fatty acid is of vegetable origin and is found in green leafy vegetables such as dill, purslane, cress, walnuts, flaxseed, olive oil (oleic acid), while EPA and DHA, which are of animal origin, are only found in deep-sea fish, some algae and fish products such as fish oil. exists.

Alpha linolenic acid needs to be converted into EPA and DHA in our body. The conversion rate is very low, not exceeding 5-7 percent in EPA and 1-3 percent in DHA.
